Director's Corner

Colleen Mooney hails from Cleveland but has been a summer resident of Put-in-Bay all her life. She and her family have been involved with PIBYC and I-LYA for decades. Colleen learned to swim and sail through PIBYC/PIBCSS programs, and eventually spent many summers teaching sailing for PIBCSS, as well. A passionate water enthusiast, Colleen loves to swim and sail and continues to race competitively when she can.

In her own words:

I am very excited for the summer swimming and sailing season to begin! I look forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting many new ones. We have a wonderful team of instructors who are eager to pass their knowledge on to the next generations and nurture their love of these sports and this Great Lake.

Our ultimate goal is to teach kids to appreciate and respect the water around them, while they develop their skills and learn valuable lessons.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support this program and the children and families who participate in it. We could not do it without you!
